Heart of the Caregiver

Overwhelmed by the responsibilities and emotions of caring for a loved one with exceptional needs? Caregiving can be very difficult and consuming work. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, isolated and stressed.
The Heart of the Caregiver was written to connect you to the life-giving comfort and support found in scripture. This 10-week study offers a deep dive into scripture, encourages journaling, and provides probing questions and beautiful, heart-felt prayers. You will come to see yourself, your situation and the person you care for in a whole new way – through the light of God’s amazing love!
Women’s Ministry Mahjong

Prayer Bus Night
Tuesday, October 20 | 6-8pm | Meet at the Mission Café Patio
This fall, we’re taking prayer outside the walls of the church once again with Prayer Bus Night!
This unique experience is all about presence and intercession. We’ll load up on a bus (or 3) and ride through neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and key locations in our community — praying as we go. Some stops may include getting off the bus to pray on-site, while others will be drive-by moments of silent and spoken prayer lead by our prayer team.
For safety reasons, children under 5 years of age are not able to participate. Childcare is available. Register using the link below.
Caring for Loved Ones (Workshop)
Friday, October 23 | 1-2pm | Alamance Room
Are caring for a senior loved one? Senior Care Authority will be at St. Mark’s to give a workshop to help you manage challenges.
Topics will include: recognizing when extra help may be needed, options for staying at home, and community living, understanding levels of care (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Nursing Care), planning, legal and financial considerations, and local resources and next steps.
Rise Weekend (Middle School Retreat)
Friday, October 23—Sunday, October 25 | Pick-Up and Drop Off at Camp Weaver
Rise Weekend is back! It’s a week’s worth of camp fun packed into one weekend! It’s the perfect event for students who’ve never done camp before or who already miss it from summer.
Rise Weekend is designed to give students a chance to get to know the Waypoint leaders and small groups they’ll be spending the year with while creating lasting memories they’ll still be talking about when they’re high school seniors.
This year, Rise Weekend will be hosted at Camp Weaver, just a 20-minute drive from the church. Since the drive is so short, drop-off and pick-up will take place directly at camp. Here are the details:
Drop-Off: 5:00 PM Friday (10/23) at Camp Weaver
Pick-Up: 1:00 PM Sunday (10/25) at Camp Weaver

Guys’ Golf Fellowship Event

We will be observing All Saints’ Day after our 9am and 11am services on November 1st. This time of remembrance and reflection in the Chapel is especially for those who have experienced a death within their family over the past year, but all are welcome.
Re-Connect Class

Join us for Re-Connect, a 2-hour class over lunch, designed for our whole church family as we revisit the foundational conversations we have with those who are newer to St. Mark’s during our Connect class.
The Church is made up of diverse individuals with unique giftings, passions and callings (1 Corinthians 12 + Ephesians 4). Each church has a distinctive identity and calling within the broader Kingdom of God. As we worship and do life together, it is important to immerse ourselves in this unique community in a way that equips us to partner and grow together in God’s Kingdom-work! Re-Connect is an opportunity to step into that partnership and gain a deeper understanding of who we are and why we do what we do.
Together, we’ll explore our guiding principles, our mission, how we live out our faith, what it means to be part of the St. Mark’s family, and how we seek to care for one another through different seasons of life.
Whether you’ve been at St. Mark’s for a few months or many years, we want every member of our church family to have the opportunity to understand where we’ve come from, where we’re going, and the biblical convictions that guide us along the way.

Horizon (High School Retreat)
November 13-15 | Departs at 4pm from St. Mark’s
Our annual high school beach retreat is back! We’re renting a beach house in North Myrtle and taking our high schoolers for a weekend full of growth, fun, and memories. Students will spend the weekend engaging with small groups, eating family-style meals, enjoying the beach, and growing in their faith.
This trip is designed to help students get more plugged in with one another, as well as help students prepare their faith for their adult years. We'll be tackling hard questions and exploring how to have a practical faith--all while enjoying the beautiful beach! Don’t miss it!
Space is limited, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible.

Learning to Slow Down: A Retreat with Fil Anderson

This one-day retreat led by Fil Anderson will center around the theme of “Learning to Slow Down.” Throughout the day, there will be teaching, reflection, silence, prayer, and practical spiritual practices focused on helping us:
• Recognize the negative impact of hurry and overcommitment on our spiritual lives
• Learn rhythms of rest, silence, and solitude
• Become more aware of God’s presence in everyday life
• Slow down enough to listen, reflect, and respond intentionally
• Develop healthier spiritual and emotional balance
Whether you are feeling spiritually exhausted, overwhelmed by busyness, or simply longing for a quieter and more grounded rhythm, we believe this retreat will offer encouragement and renewal.

Greece and Turkey Trip Registration (Waitlist)

Come with us as we “journey with Paul and John” throughout Greece, Turkey, and the Aegean Sea! The trip will focus on primary sites of Paul’s missionary journeys, the island Patmos where John wrote Revelation, and Ancient Greek culture. We will be highlighting 18 of the 27 books in the New Testament!

Child Baptism & Dedication

Child Dedication is a special time in a family's life where parents say to their church family and community that they want to raise their children, putting God first in all that they say and do. We are excited to partner alongside parents as they navigate what this looks like in their home.
There will be an online parent meeting Wednesday, September 23. Once you register, our Family Ministry team will reach out to you to schedule this meeting.

Back 2 School Celebration
Saturday, August 15 | 5-7pm | Burlington Athletic Stadium
Help us during this fun-filled event for the students and families of Eastlawn Elementary School, where we’ll provide a backpack filled with school supplies, and a Bible for each student. There will be free food, face-painting, mascots and princesses, snow cones, and more!
Food for families to take home will be provided by Feed the Hunger, and Alamance Partnership for Children will be giving away free children’s books.
We’re offering several opportunities to serve before, at, or after the event, including a Backpack Packing Party Sunday, July 26 in the Atrium .

Carowinds (Middle and High School)

Waypoint’s annual trip to Carowinds is back! All middle and high schoolers can join us for a day of rollercoasters, thrill rides, and all the other Carowinds fun! Invite everyone you know and let’s pack the bus!
We will depart St. Mark’s at 8am sharp and arrive back at St. Mark’s at 9pm, after a full day of fun rides, games, and everything in between! Cap the summer with the thrill of rollercoasters and the fun of hanging out with the Waypoint crew! Invite a friend (or five) and register below.
The $79 cost includes ticket and bus fare, but it does not include meals or souvenirs.

Art & Soul Workshop

Calling all creators! Come and enjoy a creative time together!
During this guided experience, you will explore the art of collage as you design and create a unique paper lantern. We will utilize a variety of colored paper as well as beads to create a lantern that shines with beauty and personal expression. These finished lanterns will serve as symbolic reminders that each person is called to shine brightly and share God’s light with the world.
Jesus said, "You are the Light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden." Through a short devotion, we will consider how we can use our gifts, kindness, and faith can be a light for others.
This is a space to relax, connect, and create—no pressure, just enjoyment and inspiration. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just curious to try something new, you’re welcome here!
This workshop is about the process not the product, so if an inner voice is trying to keep you from attending, brush aside that nonsense and come ready to enjoy a couple of hours to be yourself. Just come, be present, and have a good time.

The Saturday before Father’s Day, we’re inviting the community to come out for trucks, bounce houses, face painting and more!
Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your family’s friends, and your friend’s families! This free event will be fun for kids of all ages. Come out anytime between 9am and 12pm—we will have a low-sensory hour from 9 to 10am for children who are sensitive to visual and audio stimulation.

World Vision Global 6K for Water

THIS SPRING, CHANGE A LIFE. Join thousands of people across the globe in World Vision’s mission to bring life-changing clean water and fullness of life to children in communities around the world. Walk, run, or roll with us at the World Vision Global 6K for Water.
Saturday is “World Water Day” and your registration cost goes to support children without access to water. Why a 6K? That’s the average distance a child has to walk for water. Each registration provides lasting clean water to a child, like the child on your race bib! This event is in partnership with Ebenezer Church.

Dust off your finest hats and derby attire! There will be plenty of derby fare to pony up to, so come hungry and ready to hear about the most important race we could ever run!
Tables for the tea will be fabulously decorated, and once again, there will absolutely be a "Best Hat" and "Best Dressed Table" competition!

Artists, creators, and hobbyists at St. Mark’s Community Church and the surrounding area are invited to submit original works to be displayed and performed at our annual Arts Collective on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
This year, our Arts Collective will be woven into our worship services, and enjoyed in the lobby area that morning. Some chosen performing arts will be part of our worship services!

Easter Sunday

Spring Fest Family Event

Good Friday Service

Join us for a special Good Friday service at 6:30pm in the Worship Center as we recognize the sacrificial love of Christ through communion, hymns, and a brief message.
During the service, we will have kids programming for infants through 5th grade.
Seder Meal Experience
Thursday, April 2 | 6:30pm-7:30pm | Chapel
Join us for a special Seder experience, exploring the story of Passover and how it points to Jesus. This will not be a full meal, but a guided, symbolic journey through the traditional elements of the Seder table.
This evening will help bring new depth to the story of God’s rescue and the roots of our faith. This is a family experience with no childcare—everyone is welcome!
Stations of the Cross
Wednesday, April 1 | 8am-8pm | Chapel
This self-guided prayer experience on Wedneday, April 1 will allow you to follow Jesus through 8 Stations of the Cross, where you will meditate and reflect on His walk towards crucifixion.
The Chapel will be open all day for you come and engage in this solemn and meaningful expression of solidarity with Jesus Christ, God’s son who willingly gave Himself for us all. Join us for this powerful experience.
Holy Week Art Workshop
Monday, March 30 | 6:30pm-8pm | Chapel
Everyone is invited this workshop to reflect creatively on a moment from Jesus’ journey to the cross, creating a collage to tell a personal interpretation of the story! We will use colored paper, tissue paper, and text fragments to express related emotions, themes, and symbols. The workshop encourages contemplation, imagination, and artistic freedom, helping participants connect faith, storytelling, and visual art in a meaningful way.
Lenten Prayer and Reflection
Wednesdays and Sundays in Lent | Chapel

Every Wednesday and Sunday in Lent, the Chapel will be open for self-guided prayer and reflection. Come to this quiet, sacred space to engage with God in prayer. Stop by between 8am and 8pm and stay for as long as you’d like.
City Rush (Waypoint)
Sunday, March 15 | 12:15pm-8pm | Starting in the Student Center
City Rush is back! Invite your friends, sign up, and don’t miss this event full of nonstop fun for our 6th-12th graders. We start with lunch and then loading into buses directly after church on March 15. We’ll drive to Greensboro for a day full of Top Golf, Laser Tag, Escape Rooms, and plenty of other fun in between. It’s the perfect event to invite friends, whether they come to St. Mark’s or not.
Lunch (Optional): After 2nd service at St. Mark's until 1pm in the Student Center
Departure: At 1:10pm we leave the church by bus for Greensboro
Return: At 8pm, we will be back at the church
