Sustainable Alamance is a Christian Community Development Organization (www.ccda.org) engaged in development work to assist the underprivileged. They seek to not do for people what they can do for themselves. In fact, they believe that when we only do “to” and “for” the poor, we send signals that they have little that we find valuable in exchange. Sustainable Alamance positions their ministry in the middle of the community they are serving, to do life “with” them and to help them become all God created them to become.

Sustainable Alamance helps formerly incarcerated men and women become restored to the local community in part by developing mutually beneficial relationships with local employers that will provide employment opportunities. It is their mission to rebuild and strengthen family relationships and provide opportunities that serve as alternatives to incarceration, minimizing negative impact on families, communities, and society.
