Legacy – A New Story
Ice Breaker: What’s something you’re happy to leave behind in the past? Maybe a style, haircut, food, or piece of technology?
Have someone in your group read Acts 3:1-10 aloud, then respond to the following question:
1.Why do you think it’s significant that the miracle Peter does (healing a crippled man) in Acts 3 is so similar to the miracle Jesus does in Luke 5?
Have someone in your group read Acts 4:8-20 aloud, then respond to the following questions:
2. How does the healing of the lame man in the previous passage strengthen the message Peter and John preach here?
3. We’ve seen Peter around the Sanhedrin before—when he denied Jesus three times. Why do you think Peter has changed so much that now he’s not scared anymore?
4. Why do you think the religious leaders were more concerned about silencing Peter and John than celebrating the miracle?
5. Peter and John choose obedience to God over approval from people (Acts 4:19). What might obedience look like in your life when it comes to being “for your neighbor”?
6. Is there someone God’s putting on your heart right now — someone you’re being called to love, serve, or share with, even if it’s uncomfortable?
7. Have you ever felt disqualified or “too small” to make a difference? How does Peter’s transformation encourage you to believe God can use you — right where you are — to impact your neighbors?
8. What fears or insecurities do you need to surrender so you can walk in boldness like Peter?
Prayer Time:
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with the boldness of Peter.
Ask God to teach you what it means to leave a legacy that honors Him—not built on perfection, but on faithfulness, obedience, and grace.
Lord Jesus Christ, may my mission in life reflect Your mission: to love God, serve others, and make disciples.
